LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Halloween is right around the corner, but your home may be missing some decorations.

We all have those on the block who take it a step further every year with extravagant decor, and hundreds of pumpkins littering their yard, but there is a much simpler way to making sure you're not left behind this Halloween.

First impressions are everything! We want your neighbors to stop dead in their tracks and here's how you can do it. Just take a whole assortment of different types of pumpkins and gourds and have them cascade down your steps.

Add of course some different colors of mums and put some foliage plants like this Golden Euonymus in a nice terra cotta clay pot. What really captures their attention are these two topiaries. These topiaries are created from contorted willows and these contorted willow bunches I just stuck right into the potting soil in the pot. I tied them together in the middle and the top with wire or you can use raffia.

Then I took little gourds, big pumpkins and I just shoved it and packed it full of them. Now we have these two beautiful topiaries that definitely say "Wow". Then don't forget about the front door. Here is something different. Why not paint a stripe right down the middle of your door? I used two colors - a dark olive and an apple green.

Now to soften it - because this is a traditional home - I did coffee glaze over them. What a great look. And then to compliment it - I did three wreaths in a row, and these wreaths are something different - it is not the typical one wreath.

And then why not a hanging pumpkin? Hang it from a bracket outside - I just drilled a hole through the stem - hot glued on some berries and leaves and I have a great look.
