The Lights of the Delta in Blytheville started in 1995 with 14 displays, this year there more than 40.
Welcome to Blytheville, where twinkling lights cover large animated displays. It's the Lights of the Delta.
Since 1995 cars have lined up to watch the presentation. Last year it attracted people from 25 states and three countries.
All to see arches with big red bows, a bouncing red ball that sets off a sparkling wall of a stars. There's a moving whale, Noah's ark, plus much more.
What would a Christmas display be without a Santa or two? There are plenty, ones that glow and others that..." Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas Everybody!"
A picture with Santa doesn't cost a thing, but donations are appreciated.
The show is possible through the work of about 100 volunteers like Executive Director George Hubbard.
"We started out not to make money because we don't make money. Without our sponsor, we couldn't be open; we could keep our rates as low as we do," says Hubbard. The price is $10 a car.
Hay rides are just one of several attractions favored by the more than 50,000 people come to enjoy the more than six-million lights each year.
"Besides just the lights, we've made this entire area an experience," says Hubbard.
In fact, Blytheville's historic down town is decorated with more than a million lights like That Book Store in Blytheville.
Store owner Mary Gay Shipley is accustomed to entertaining famous guests like Senator Hillary Clinton and author John Grisham.
"We wanted a book store that was good; not good for a little small town in Arkansas," says Shipley.
"We got all the phone calls saying, 'Well, who do you have in town today?'" says Shipley.
Hopefully That Book Store can expect lots of new customers thanks to the Lights of the Delta -- another reason to be Amazed by Arkansas.
The Lights of the Delta are open every night until December 27th.
